Job Title: Sourcing Manager 100% on-site

Hours: 8:00 am to 5:00 Monday - Friday

About the Role

We are seeking a results-driven Sourcing Manager to lead ingredient and packaging procurement for our protein bar business, with a strong focus on cost reduction, margin improvement, and supply continuity. This role will own strategic sourcing initiatives, negotiate supplier contracts, manage commodity exposure, and drive year-over-year cost savings while maintaining quality, food safety, and brand standards.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Sourcing & Cost Savings

· Own cost-saving initiatives across ingredients and packaging, delivering measurable year-over-year savings

· Develop and execute sourcing strategies to reduce COGS while maintaining quality and functionality

· Lead price negotiations, contract renewals, and volume-based agreements

· Build and maintain should-cost models for key ingredients and packaging components

· Track commodity markets and proactively manage cost volatility

Ingredient & Packaging Procurement

· Source and manage suppliers for proteins, sweeteners, flavors, inclusions, functional ingredients, and packaging materials

· Identify alternate suppliers and reformulation opportunities to reduce cost and mitigate risk

· Partner with manufacturing to optimize ingredient and packaging specifications

Supplier Management & Performance

· Lead supplier selection, onboarding, and performance management

· Establish cost, service, and quality KPIs for suppliers

· Drive continuous improvement with suppliers to reduce cost, improve lead times, and increase reliability

Cross-Functional Collaboration

· Partner with R&D to evaluate cost-neutral or cost-down formulation changes

· Collaborate with Operations, Finance, and Quality to align sourcing decisions with margin targets

· Support demand planning and production schedules with reliable, cost-effective supply

Risk Management & Compliance

· Ensure supplier compliance with food safety, regulatory, and quality requirements (FDA, FSMA, GFSI)

· Manage contracts, specifications, COAs, and traceability documentation

· Develop contingency plans for supply disruptions and price spikes

Qualifications

Required

· Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Food Science, or related field

· 5+ years of sourcing or procurement experience in food, CPG, or nutrition products

· Proven track record of delivering cost savings and margin improvement

· Strong negotiation, financial, and analytical skills

· Experience working in manufacturing and with ingredient suppliers

Preferred

· Experience in bars, snacks, supplements, or functional foods

· Familiarity with protein, dairy, cocoa, flavors

· Experience in high-growth or cost-conscious environments

· ERP or procurement system experience
