rapidly, we are seeking a dynamic Director of Engineering to lead our plant

engineering and facilities teams. This role will play a critical part in shaping the future of

our operations, driving process improvements, and implementing technology that enables

growth and efficiency.

Position Overview

The Director of Engineering is responsible for leading all engineering, maintenance,

and facilities functions across Built Brands’ operations. This role will oversee

manufacturing process development, capital projects, preventative maintenance

programs, and facility optimization while building a high-performing team. Reporting into

the Operations organization, the Director will be a key strategic partner, ensuring

reliable, efficient, and innovative production capabilities that support Built’s growth

trajectory.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage engineering, facilities, and maintenance managers, ensuring

alignment with company goals.

• Hire, train, and develop high-performing engineering and technical staff.

• Develop and implement a comprehensive preventative and predictive maintenance

program, including critical spare parts management and budget oversight.

• Drive the development of manufacturing process strategies and technology

roadmaps.

• Manage capital projects and collaborate with third-party vendors to design and

implement customized manufacturing solutions.

• Partner with operations, quality, and facilities teams to develop and standardize

work instructions, safety protocols, and multi-layered auditing systems (including

LOTO and OSHA standards).

• Implement facility and process monitoring systems to ensure optimal uptime and

reliability.

• Develop predictive production models to support production planning, staffing, and

raw material procurement.

• Serve as a subject matter expert on plant engineering, automation, robotics,

controls, and facility management.

• Build a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement within

engineering and operations.

• Ensure compliance with FDA, food safety, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications

• BS Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Manufacturing, Controls, or Industrial

Engineering (MS preferred; MBA is a plus).

• 7+ years of technical engineering experience in a manufacturing facility, including at

least 3+ years in a leadership role.

• Demonstrated success managing engineering, maintenance, and facilities

functions.

• Strong experience with process flow analysis, manufacturing principles, and project

management.

• Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

• Proficient in engineering software, data analysis, and technical reporting.

• Knowledge of FDA regulations and food manufacturing requirements preferred.

• Bilingual (Spanish) highly desirable; multi-lingual a plus.

• PMP certification, robotics/automation expertise, or simulation modeling

experience is advantageous.
